That trade looks fair, Minny doesn’t need to keep stalock since there rookie goalie is looking good so he’s expendable and patyrn has a lower cap hit Than ceci but does the same thing so that would work for the leafs. The value is good, stalock has value and so does patyrn so giving ceci and a fourth would probably get patyrn, Semyon in the other hand is producing extremely well in junior and is looking like a steal so maybe if u took the pick out and make it ceci and semyon for stalock and patyrn that trade would be bang on

Pateryn's not a bad # 6 D to block shots and hit.
When he was in MTL though Price hated him playing infront of him as he'd screen him a lot .
Price actually hacked the **** out of Pateryn in an Ottawa vs Montreal game back in 2013 or 2014 i believe.

He wasnt well liked here and that all came to a head when his GF lashed out about him being snubbed by the team and management constantly.

i think you'd be better off with Phaneuf because he's faster then Pateryn if we're being honest. (not a shot , i've watched Phaneuf 3-4 years back beat Pateryn in a foot race . . . . That's right Pylon won a foot race .

Pateryn is a decent player. Not a stud, but not a pylon like Cody Ceci. Brad Hunt is another option. He's a defender who's also a decent goal scorer. Stalock is also a decent goalie. I'd rather have Brooks than Der-Arguchintsev though.

Considering Pateryn hasn't played a game yet this season due to injury, no, he isn't an upgrade unless you're looking to dump salary.

Dubnyk is out for an indefinite period of time due to his wife having a medical condition and even if he wasn't, Stalock was playing better. They're not trading him. Kahkonen has played all of 3 NHL games, I know in ACGM-land that's enough to throw a $10m/8 year contract at him as a future Vezina winner, but in reality he's still a prospect that should spend more time in Iowa and lead that team on a deep playoff run. The Wild rushed Kuemper's development and he regressed quite a bit to the point he needed a change of scenery to get his career back on track. They'd be smart to not make the same mistake with Kahkonen when they have 2 goalies signed for another couple seasons before they need to do anything.
