I think the Fowler trade may be the more beneficial for both team, and realistic. I'd do :

    Domi

    for

    Fowler
    + a pick

he's a 50 point player, last year was a peak for him but he's young and I think a lot of teams would like a guy like that to play with their top lines. Having said that, he's not going anywhere.

OP had a good proposition by adding Kulak because even if MTL fans make a lot of AGM with ANA LDs, ANA is short at defense. But ANA might also want a LW/C in their top 6, younger than Fowler.

I would take offers involving Domi for top 4 LD, but let's not forget Fowler has a NTC (only 4 teams on his list)

there is no knee jerk reaction to trade Domi

but if you were going to, Avs do not want him at the cost of Girard. Big time pass

He's a 50 point winger who can play center when needed, sign him long term for 50 point winger money, with cap inflation it'll be a good contract in no time, they'd have him for his entire prime years if they sign him long term.

Fowler would have to waive, and I don’t really see why he’d do that.

Thanks for all your comments !! I would love to sign him like Drouin's contract. Bergevin wasn't able to sign him last summer because he was probably asking like 8M or even more .. but at 5.5M would be nice.

Maybe he'd rather play top2 with Weber on a team that's got a shot for the playoffs than staying there? I mean, he's 29, he's gotta be thinking time's running out right?

I don't think there is any interest from MB to move Domi, ok he's not scoring 70+ points so far this year but he is still on pace to do 50 in a low season and brings intangibles to the team that we need. He won't cost 8M+ unless he scores 70+ again and if he does, great! Habs Happily give it to him. So not sure what the problem is here?

Any trade for Domi will be for full value or they'll just keep him but he isn't being shopped.

Keep Domi. It's a prime time to give him a long term contract now that his play isn't so good.

Is Montreal in a better position to win in the near future than Anaheim? I'd have them pegged at about even, plus the much more enjoyable climate in SoCal...
