Ehlers has been Winnipeg’s best forward, you’re going to have to heavily overpay to get a young winger on a really good contract. I think what you’ve proposed is really close though, I think you’re off by a little bit. Buchnevich doesn’t replace the hole of losing ehlers. The main focus on your proposal is adding to help WPG’s blue line. I think you’re off on that a little bit. They’ve done really well with what they have and I think that if you took out Hajek and swapped him with a F prospect it would make a lot more sense. People don’t realize how weak WPG is up front, losing ehlers creates a huge hole and we don’t really have the depth to replace that. Maybe swap Hajek for Howden.

Would you consider this trade far?

WPG trades:

Nikolaj Ehlers

NYR trades:

Pavel Buchnevich
Anthony Deangelo
Brett Howden
2021 3rd round pick

I personally still don’t see WPG making this trade just because of how well ehlers is playing. I just wanted to see if value is close.

Interesting, I do think it would benefit Niku majorly getting a change of scenery, but I do see them getting more back if they did add him.

Ehlers has been WPG’s best forward, he’s on a really good contract and he’s only going to get better. There’s no chance he gets moved unless it’s for a hefty return, like I said I think the trade is close but don’t think wpg does it. Niku is still one of our best D prospects and no need to give him up too unless it’s worth it.

I would take out Buch and add in Krieder(If the NYR are not re-signing him)...That would make it more fairer

Tbh that makes it worse, cause Kreider walks as a UFA. Unless He comes with an extension I say no to that.
