Deals at the TDL or before ARI BUF COL DAL FLA STL

Created by: Green4D4
Team: 2019-20 Ottawa Senators
Initial Creation Date: Dec. 10, 2019
Published: Dec. 11, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Keeping for legitimate room building reasons:
- Pageau (unless a team ponies up a 1st in this years draft and/or a high level prospect).
- Demelo (because F***in rights Melo)
- Borocop (because he's actually not terrible)
+ Both of them together actually create an decent dynamic and a good shutdown crew.
Trades
1.
OTT
  1. Hossa, Marián
  2. 2021 4th round pick (PIT)
Additional Details:
Ottawa receives the lower of the two 2021 4th round picks Arizona owns (ARI or PIT).
ARI
  1. Boedker, Mikkel
Additional Details:
Cheap deal in terms of asset and money. Arizona gets a warm body/depth for a possible playoff run, who's also familiar with organization. Ottawa gets cap security for next year along with getting rid of Boedker's bench warming 4 million dollars.
2.
OTT
  1. Ristolainen, Rasmus
  2. 2020 5th round pick (BUF)
Additional Details:
Seems to be a whipping boy in Buffalo. Him and Chabot on the PP would be something special. Not sold on his defensive game though. I'm sure D.J. will solve that over time.
BUF
  1. Tierney, Chris
  2. 2020 3rd round pick (OTT)
Additional Details:
Assuming Ottawa keeps Pageau, which I think they should, they go for a little offensive firepower on the right side of the blue line and give up someone younger but not exactly in the long term plans. I love Cobra and I think he's a great 3rd line centre. But, he's going to get lapped come the start of the 2020 season with Norris, Brown, Pageau, Chlapik and Anisimov along with maybe a top 5 pick in the draft being a centre as well. Not a lot of room left for him.
3.
OTT
  1. 2020 3rd round pick (TOR)
COL
  1. Namestnikov, Vladislav
Additional Details:
I'm hoping we could land a 3rd for Nasty. He's been playing well and could be valuable for a team looking for a little scoring insurance. He's lacking in consistency but it should sort itself out come February.
4.
OTT
  1. 2021 6th round pick (DAL)
DAL
  1. Hainsey, Ron ($1,750,000 retained)
Additional Details:
Not sure where "Elite Sniper" Ron Hainsey will land (if he lands anywhere at the deadline), but it won't be a for a whole lot. Maybe a conditional pick depending on playoff performance for a team looking for that veteran attitude on the blue line.
5.
OTT
  1. 2020 5th round pick (TOR)
  2. 2021 7th round pick (FLA)
Additional Details:
A much needed backup goaltender to Bobrovsky. Not only that, but he can step up and make a few big saves here and there.

Ottawa receives the higher of the two 2021 7th round picks Florida owns (FLA or WPG).
FLA
  1. Anderson, Craig ($2,375,000 retained)
Additional Details:
This one makes me sad. On one hand, I'd like Pierre to trade Andy to a team looking for a shot at the cup. On the other hand, I'd like Andy to retire a Sen. Sending him to the Sunshine wouldn't be too bad.
6.
OTT
  1. 2021 3rd round pick (STL)
Additional Details:
Cheap offensive depth for possible playoff run.
STL
  1. Ennis, Tyler
Additional Details:
Has been playing really well as of late. Could be traded for something as high as a 3rd. Maybe a 4th is more realistic.

What is Buffalo looking for with Risto, then? You have a surplus in RHD and a lack of depth down the middle. If there is a deal to be made, what is the asking price?

Same as most deals for a top 4d in which it's a top six forward. Tierney ain't it.

He has the capacity to be a 2nd line C. If not him then who? Are you looking for something along the same package as, say, Faulk? I can change the 3rd to a 2nd?

Faulk is an expiring ufa. Risto would be looking for someone like white. They won't sell risto low.

Don't think Florida can do that without sending an equal $ value contract back. They are right up against the cap.

Is Pysyk movable? Maybe Pysyk and a 5th for Anderson and a 6th?

He would be redundant on the Blues. We have literally no need for him.

Faulk signed 7 year 6.5M contract.

I guess STL is going to stand pat at the deadline?

My mistake. Thought it was an 8 year.

No idea, was just cruising through teams the other day and saw how close Florida was to the cap.

My thinking would be no, because they don't have much in the way of defensive depth in the AHL, and trading him for a guy who's going to be a backup doesn't make sense to me, but I really have no idea. An expiring Pysyk probably nets a cheaper goalie though IMO.

It’s not that they will be at a stand still it’s that we aren’t spending a third round pick on a player who won’t make the roster in maybe 2 months.
