honestly i do think so get the most value for him with his great contract and amazing year so far. Since they have fox and trouba already then a guy like Nils Lundkvist thats lighting up the SHL plus their left side is looking good as well so might as well trade him for max value

nope. that sort of offensive talent from a dman is pretty impossible to replicate.

I think they will simply because of next year's cap crunch. They're stuck essentially with Shattenkirk's whole contract next year (buyout calculations are weird), and after pushing DeAngelo hard in negotiations this year I gotta think he expects to be paid.

Theyve I vested in trouba as their number 1 Rd. They like fox coming up. Gotta think they look to save money vs spending big on DeAngelo.

The only way I see them keeping him is if one of their younger c prospects can take over 2 C and/or they can't find an upgrade at 2c and save a lot of money there

He has 36 points in over 100 gp. He has less than half a point per game this year.

He may be a great 2 C in the future. He isn't even an okay one right now

They dont have a cap Crunch next season. They will trade Kreider and possibly Strome too. They will have around 18 million in Cap Space to resign Georgiev, TDA, and Fast. which means they will have around 8 million to fill out the roster. Then the following year they get rid of 23m in cap by shedding Staal, Smith, Shatty, and Hank.

The cap isnt a problem at all, it is the impending expansion draft thats the issue.

I appreciate you trying to make a statistical argument. Surely you'll appreciate one that's done with actually predictive stats that give you a much fuller on-ice picture...

Crazy how that didn't matter for your argument lol
