I always love this time for prospects. That first one-two years post draft for the top 8 or 10 picks everyone dreams of them reaching their potential and treat them so valuably. The bottom line the way NHL values talent teams essentially don't do the trade suggested from Buffalo's point of view. It's that simple
However in all likelihood when the dust is settled in 10 years: more often than not the team in the Rangers side will lose this trade....
7th overall almost always gets you an NHLer and there are plenty of studs in the last 20 years (provorov, Scheifele, Suter), but there are also a handful of busts (Skills, Olesz, Lars Johnsson) and plenty of good but not great players (Wilson, Okposo)....
But for now he is just so full of potential!!!
