Skjei age 25 and DeAngelo age 24 are both close or equal to Fowler's talent right now and improving with experience the more they play. Fowler age 28 has peaked and his talent will start to decrease with time as his injuries that he suffers every year start to take a toll. Not to mention he's totally over payed for the point production numbers he puts up. Rangers don't want Fowlers inflated salary on the books for the next 7! years.

The Rangers need some cap relief next summer. Skeji and/or DeAngelo should be only for cap relief not for an expensive Fowler. Even the trade two NHLer for one, doesn't seem a good on ice value for the Rangers.
