You can have Green with Detroit retaining 50% of his salary for the 2nd but I can't see them taking Panik his contract is to long.

This makes sense with his slow start. I think the Caps may have to start changing up their lines, late in games when they have a lead. Hagelin-Eller-Panik is such a good shutdown line. Basically perfect. But on offense it's three finishers and no dangle. Too easy to control, unless they get a breakaway. Maybe they swap Panik with Wilson when they're up a couple. Or maybe they swap Vrana with Hagelin. Or, if they keep the lines how they are, you're right that Panik is tough to move today. But his last four seasons, with 33+ points each, on two different teams? And being a part of Arizona's league leading penalty kill last year? I can't have imagined all of that.

The guys right, Detroit doesnt want that contract, they have plenty of those types of players already and are rebuilding and trying to get rid of all these types of contracts. Green at 50% for a 3rd and 4th is most likely the deal.
