Screw the rivalry. Boston has a ton of LHD prospects and need a top 6 forward. Montreal needs a LHD. Everyone should do whats best for their club

if julien is still their coach they will not still be in the hunt. all of: florida, tampa, toronto, and boston are better in their own division, hell buffalo might be better...

Over-valuing Tatar much? No way he's worth that much.

He had 58pts last year and on pace for 70 this year. Miller is a throw in, Cehlarik is meh and Zboril is a project. And add the 1st I think its a fair deal

He has one more season after this, Doubt he brings much to the table for the B's to offer that much. But maybe i'm just under-valuing here. And this coming from a big Tatar fan when he was playing for us. Kind of still wish we had him. Couldn't be any worse then the trash currently on the team.

Tatar, Nyquist, bring back Datsyuk. Detroit could've been a contender this year.

Yeah when we lost Franzen to his concussion plus Zetterbergs bad back and Datsyuk went back home to Russia, I knew we were in trouble. And facing a long road ahead. Just didn't think we would be this bad. Team is already mediocre at best and being decimated with Injuries isn't helping either.

1. They’re not giving a first rounder +++ for Tatar.

Also some bad draft luck. Couldve taken Konecny or Boeser instead of Svech and Suzuki or Necas instead of Rasmussen. But if im Detroit id do whatever I can to acquire a 2nd 1st rounder this year and then trade up to select Askarov. Drafting Byfield and Askarov could go a long way for you guys. Also Seider is going to come and really improve that defense, that turned out to be a great pick.
Zadina-Larkin-Mantha
Bertuzzi-Byfield-XXX
Fabbri-Veleno-Athanasiou

The XXX could be a free agent signing or something

Exactly, Kind of questioning some of the moves Holland made at the draft, Definitely would've rather had Necas over Rasmussen. Or either one of Konecny and Suzuki over Svechnikov. Draft is always a crap shoot you just never know how they'll turn out. Future D will be greatly improved with Hronek, Seider, Lindstrom and McIsaac not really worried about our D core and possibly a free agent signing or a trade could always transpire. Would've rather had Quin Hughes over Zadina as well. Looking like Yzerman might be weeding out some of Hollands garbage here. Time will tell.

Just looking at how Laine absolutely left Cholowski in the dust, I dont think hes ready to be in the NHL defensively. I think they should go after Krug hard and roll this next year.
Krug-Hronek
Dekeyser-Seider
Nemeth-TVR (1 year UFA signing)

Keep Lindstrom and McIsaac in the minors

It's really just a 1st. The others are just depth players. Montreal rejects

Agree both McIsaac and Lindstrom are at least 2-3 years away, If not more. Would love to bring home the Detroit kid Torey Krug. Maybe if he and Sweeney can't reach a deal coming home to Detroit could be a real possibility. Hearing Yzerman really wants him and would probably give him the Josi deal 7 x 9 or possibly close to it. After this disastrous season i can see Yzerman being heavily involved in imroving the roster for next season.

Not zboril. Cehlarik is an nhl player. Nothing special but he’s shown that he can play in the league. Miller is a bandaid but a rock solid d man. So, no. Not at all.

9 mill is ridiculous for Krug. I think as a UFA he should get more than 7-7.5

Totally agree, Have family and friends in the Boston area. And they said that he'd probably take less to play in both Boston and Detroit then elsewhere. Talk is that he'd probably take 8 x 7 from Boston and 7 x 7 from Detroit and slightly more elsewhere. We shall see.

Montreal isn't interested in any of those players. Only thing that would interest them is the 1st round pick. Have to throw in a A Prospect with it if you want him

I agree I doubt both teams trade with each other also but lets call a spade a spade here please. Miller, Cehlerik are hardly + + in a trade like this..... Zboril is a prospect project the way he's developed and the 1st is destined to be late like 28-31st.....

Tatar will get easily a better offer from someone else. Kevin Hayes got Lemieux, 1st and a 4th. E Kane got O'Regan, 1st and a 4th....... Look at what Boston paid for an over the hill Rick Nash who hadn't scored over 40 points the 3 years prior, was a pending UFA, was injury prone and was 33-34 at the time.

Tatar is producing more than both those guys were and still has another year on his contract at a very affordable 4.8M. Habs could even retain to make lower....

Habs are getting a 1st, 3rd, a decent prospect and a cap dump for Tatar right now if they trade him.... that's just using previous trade market valuations for forwards.

Maybe they've learned their lesson from the Nash trade? Sweeney has been pretty vocal that he's not eager to move first round picks or his top level prospects. not to say that zboril is one of those, he isn't. He is a project. He's looking like he could be a solid d man, but certainly not top pair or anything like that.

+++ didn't mean it was a huge package, more just it was a first round pick plus three assets. All of those players are assets, where they fall on the asset spectrum is in the eye of the beholder.
