You would have to add the 2nd to NYR side not the leafs side.

Basically you are trading a 23 y/o first line winger who is on the verge of being an elite player for a backup goalie, a top 4 defensman (I personally love Deangelo, but lets be realistic) and a 3rd line centre (on the leafs. Obvs Krieder is better than 3rd line on most teams)

The only part that really is of interest for the leafs is Georgiev and they can get him or a player similar to him for less than Nylander. Deangelo is great, but again not an urgent need with Holl playing as well as he is.

I think that fits needs for the Leafs but with their cap situation strapped as it is it’s gonna be tough to re-sign both Kreider and DeAngelo. Also not sure if I’d trade Georgiev if I’m Gorton.

Georgiev is a future starter, so calling him a backup is a little disrespectful, and 2, Kreider is not a Center.

Forget the necessity about signing a UFA. No trade should based on hoping to sign a UFA player.
The trade as constructed....Leafs like it. They get three NHLers for one NHLer this season. Then starting next season get two NHLers with many controllable years for four years of Nylander.
Gee, as a Leaf I like Gordiev and Deangelo for Nylander alone. Rangers can make a better deal than a second rounder for Kreider.

no.

toronto only really needs one of the three guys from the rangers side. kreider will end up costing more than nylander if they re-sign him. they need someone to pair with rielly, and deangelo is a similar type of defensemen so it doesn't really work out.
