what is with all the Duchene hate recently - sheesh... He's the one of the most productive forward on the team. I think this has more to do with Laviolette than anything - he lasted 5 seasons with CAR, 5 seasons with PHI. and now he is at 5 seasons with NSH -- could be that his coaching/message doesn't resonate with players for more than 5 seasons.

Not sure if this is sarcasm, but Ill comment anyways.

Hit it right on the head. Lavy is firery guy who gets the most out of his players and they buy into his system. But after 4-5 years that message runs out. See it with the Lavy, Vigneualt, Torts, Hitchcock and Babcock types of coaches.

It was sarcastic. Buddy said duchene is cancer but there is clearly a huge problem in buffalo. I specifically remember a quote for ROR about losing the love of hockey when he was in buffalo, I cant think of a team that gets as many trade requests from.

So with this logic, maybe Bogosian will become a decent dman? A team should take a flyer on his with some cap retention. He's injury prone,but he would also be motivated to prove he's NHL worthy for his next deal

I dont think hes as bad as hes been in buffalo. Hes certainly overpaid but I dont see why he cant be an ok 4/5 defenseman. It's a really good opportunity for teams to buy low on him or sign him for very little when he becomes a ufa. It's a lot like lehner, up until he signed with NY he wasnt very good and as hes talked about he struggled with mental illnesses. the isles bought low on him and he has really turned it around. I was a bit sceptical because I thought his play was a result of trots' systems but he has excelled in Chicago who is awful defensively.
