I would spend it by not spending it lol, better to not give up any assets at this point and wait for FA next year. Jets have seriously exceeded expectations this year. I think they’d be smart to keep all their assets and load up in FA

Who are we going after in free agency? I know the obvious Hamonic but trouble will be convincing anyone else to play here.

I mean, jets are going to be good next year, only person I see them getting/needing is a guy like hamonic or edmunson. Tbh our left side is weaker than the right. Joel edmunson at 2x3.5 isn’t a bad idea. Besides like 1 dman I don’t see wpg going after any other FA. No reason to unless someone is willing to come here. I also wouldn’t be surprised if we see 0 FA signings lol, we are a good young team and that cap space might just be saved to go towards Laine.

Jets still have a strong stable of prospects and all of their picks. if Im Chevvy Im targeting dmen under contract on bad teams. That and targeting a guy like Hamonic

I know there is a lot of talk about Ristolainen. Honestly, I dont know if hes good or not, but he has decent term and salary. If the jets can make Beaulieu, Bitetto and Sbisa regular NHL dmen, Im sure they can work wonders with Risto. I guess the problem would be the cost. Obvs you arent dealing Ehlers or Roslovic, but maybe some prospects and picks get it done when Buffalo eventually slides out of the playoff picture.

I mean I really am not a fan of Risto, but it seems as if every move Chevy makes is careful and calculated (besides a few oopsies that every gm makes.)

So if they were to go after him clearly they see something. I personally wouldn’t be giving up anything crazy for risto either. If the price is right why not, but I doubt it’ll happen. I think most likely we see Chevy be patient and wait it out till the draft.

If they are on an expiring UFA contract, we won't have to do any convincing. Pure rental situation for a player like Kreider. Hamonic I think the Jets wait till the off-season and make him an offer as a free agent unless Calgary is willing to move him without the Jets giving up much future. Regardless, I would like to see the Jets find a player that they can spend cash/cap space on instead of future. Maybe help an eastern conference team dump a contract to allow them to make a move.

I think they go after a top 4D, maybe a backup G if LB leaves or struggles. There isn’t really room to add a F other than 4th line. Maybe a good 4C like a Brian Boyle/Matt Hendricks type.

Harmonic is an obvious fit but maybe Justin Schultz or Chris Tanev if they aren’t resigned. Not as many good choices on LD since I don’t see Brodie or Krug going to UFA

Personally, I would trade for Cody Ceci.
