Maybe if it was Kuemper instead. Raanta is too injury plagued for New Jersey to accept him the main return for Hall. He hasn't played a full season in his entire career and he's already 30.

In that case Chayka would probably want one of Kapanen or Johnsson

That's certainly a massive overpay by the Leaf for a backup making 4.5m. Plus it weakens the Leafs at RHD not having Ceci.

Don't think the Coyotes would give up Kuemper another alternative would be the coyotes trading Ivan Prosvetov in his first pro year hes posted some insane numbers and the coyotes view him as their next starting goalie , the key would be if the devils want to wait couple years until he's NHL ready or if they want goaltending now

Ceci's overpaid
Then ARZ gives Ceci back with the same amount retained (Ceci now only makes $2 030 866 which makes sense due to Leafs having odd number contract)

Raanta is more of a tandem goalie than a backup he would relieve Andersen's work load and can be depended on if Andersen goes down with an injury

Zero chance you'd get Taylor Hall @ 50% retention for those pieces, Reportedly Shero wants a top D prospect in any deal for Hall. And you've offered him none.

Well then about 15 other teams that should be on Raanta if teams are really so worried about their starter going down. Doesn't really help the Leafs on the ice as the Leaf have to give a 4.5m player this year and next to accommodate Raanta?

Sorry my mistake, Still doubt that gets you Taylor Hall. Really does nothing for NJ.

Well it really doesn't matter what Shero wants. Hall has 10 weeks before TDL to show his worth. Hall has to show he is difference maker. Not so sure he is.

Agreed, He's having a bad season by all accounts. So he's definitely not helping his trade value as of now.

Now I think Hall might be able to perform well short term (March to June) on a good team, if he can stay healthy. IMO, there just isn't going to be many buyers for Hall for TDL, hence his trade value may not be so good for the Devils. Long term/expensive contract next summer for Hall? Now that's something I would stay away from.

Then I would hope the Leafs would run, not walk away from that discussion.
