You don't even talk about Gibson unless Teuvo/Aho+ are mentioned

0 reasons for the ducks to move him

not sure what the Ducks goalie depth looks like, but that's a pretty tough package to pass up on -- a top 4 LHD, a top 6 winger (maybe top 9), a lesser starting goalie, two former first round draft picks under the age of 20, and a 1st and 2nd in a deep draft. Just tough to give up on Rakell and Gibson considering how great they both are and how great their contracts both are

Don’t forget that Rakell is also in the trade

This is an extremely easy package to pass up on

If we move EITHER of Rakell or Gibson, the other team's #1 RD is coming back, plus the other team's best goalie prospect (in the case of Gibson).

I think there is a lot to work with here - sure you can modify the deal some, but it's a deal that gets your foot in the door

It does not, To get a foot in the door with Gibson it takes Aho/Teuvo +, let alone adding Rakell

Lets just say Gibson requests a trade and refuses to play for Anaheim, what do you think the package would be then? (just to be clear I do agree with you guys on getting a top player back).

If that was the case I dont think you are able to request a top player from the other team.

Thoughts?

exactly - like I said, modify the deal a bit - take out Nino and add Teuvo -- that's something that will get two GMs talking.

He signed long term he wants to be here,

If we cant get a top player back we dont move him

Teuvo/Aho + to start a conversation that probably goes nowhere

I think that your premise is invalid -- Gibson requesting a trade doesn't mean that another GM can take advantage of the situation because other GMs would all be in the bidding (in this case, Calgary, Detroit, Pittsburgh [Gibson's home town], and Columbus would all be in there as well as Carolina.

I wouldn't move him for less than Pesce, Nedeljkovic, Priskie and your better 2020 first (assuming Toronto's doesn't revert).

Ok lets say Pittsburgh wants to make a move for him. Most likely starts with Murray, as Pitts has been rumoured to trade him. What else do you ask for?

Guentzel, Marino, Jarry and their 2020 first. Thinking over my earlier offer, I think I might ask for Suzuki rather than Priskie.
