Someone is high as a kite if they think EDM is giving up 2 1st round picks for that guy.

You might, MIGHT get a 2nd regardless if he resigns or not.

I don't see EDM trading away their 1st at all this year.

Again, I'll counter with Puljujarvi, the 2020 2nd Round PIck, and 2021 3rd Round PIck for Pageau extened at $4.5M/4y.

That's debatable.

CBJ overpaid for Dizingle. I feel as if he's basically this years dizingle. Over hyped. Not really as good as the numbers suggest but someone on Ottawa has to get some goals etc..

You look at Dizingle now. He's back to kind of his normal self, under 20 goals a year, not really effecting 5v5 play. 3 goals in 5v5 in 30+ games.
Do you give up 2 2nds for that. No you really don't. And This guy is just another version of him. Same crap different year. He's not that great, Kind of an average guy. I'm sure someone will cough up a 2nd maybe, I wouldn't hope for more than that.

Dzingel was riding Duchene and Stone. Pageau is creating the offense for Ottawa this year, its him, Duclair and Tkachuk mostly. He also has the rep of being a lockdown defender and a great PK guy

He's been a 3C most of his career. I'm not going to knock the guy, he made it to the NHL. But if he was this level of player you would like to claim or the stats show. Look he's been in the league relatively full time for 5 years now. He's never had those kind of stats. At some point you realize there is some inflation going here. Just be honest about it.
He's not worth 2 2nds. It is what it is. GMs know better.
The CBJ trade last year was an abnormality. They couldn't get what they wanted for their pieces so went all in. Knowing Panarin and Bob were leaving so took their 1 and best shot.
They paid what they had to to do that. There isn't a team that desperate this year.

Theres always going to be teams that overpay at the deadline. And there will always be teams that overpay to get rid of cap dumps. Pageau si the missing piece for the cup in Edmonton

Dzingle is not getting that kind of return. He is shooting a career high 10% shooting percentage, he is not this good and teams know he is a 3rd line center, with defensive upside.

You're also not getting Borgstrom for that. It's a player that Florida apparently didnt want in a Pacioretty trade and yet you have even worst players some how enticing him out of Florida....

Anything can happen in the playoffs. Remember when the Stone deal happened and everyone had Vegas as cup favorites? If last year's playoffs have taught me anything its that nothing is guaranteed. It was basically the "F your bracket" playoffs.

You've overvalued Pageau here by a lot. He is not worth a 1st unless a team offers that to Dorion. #2-3 centres on an expiring contract aren't valued that high unless a team is truly desperate to fill that hole.

I say just keep him and extend him. He's worth more to the organization at this point anyways.

I'd take that in a second if I were Ottawa.

I like Pageau but he's overrated here. He is a good role player and addition to a team looking to make a push. He's getting decent numbers with higher than average ice time this year. If a team overspends for him to play on the 3rd line, they will be massively disappointed with his offensive production. This is a good offer for Edmonton to shore up their bottom 6 and pk.

LOL
unless you are cloning 4 of him to come in and play, he's not the missing pieces. Lets be clear about the intentional plural.

Dzingle is like Duclair. Given players to play with, he has the offensive upside, but he will never be the guy to drive play from the 3rd line. He is a terrific attachment to a line. The problem is that CAR has about 6 guys who are all "great attachments to a line"

2 conditional seconds that become 1sts is too high for sure.

Two 2nd with one becoming a first on re-sign or finals would be fine.

Puljujarvi + 2nd would also be fine though. <- I think this is actually the sweet spot for both teams
