depends when we want to trade georgie. If its at the TDL then i don't think that carolina will would pay a 1st straight up, even though I think he's worth that. The main issue is that igor is going to go back to russia if he doesn't play next year. Additionally, the rangers have way to many defensive prospects and Rykov does not have a spot in the future D core. the third could be changed to something like a 5th and the deal would prob still be made by CAR.

even though i'm of the opinion that the rangers shouldn't trade gerogiev, i'll explain to you basement dwellers why the carolina deal is good for rangers. regardless what many of the sheltered guys on the site say, history shows that teams only give up 1st rounders for proven starting goalies. even though georgiev has all the potential on becoming a good starter, he isn't one yet. rykov, hajek, and lindgren aren't projecting to become top 4 dmen. if the rangers are going to become contenders again 1 out of the 3 makes the team. the rangers losing any of those 3 players doesn't affect the team in the future whatsoever.

obtaining a draft pick that can be btwn 20-25 is a huge win for the team. more so in a draft like 2020.
