You overpaid for Brown. If they were to move Borgen it would be for something more substantial then 35 year old almost 6 million dollar Dustin Brown. I also do not think Pitt wants Sheary back.

You don't know anything about Dustin Brown and the Kings are never trading him. 50-60 point "35 year year old" is worth every bit of his almost 6M....

I know plenty about Dustin Brown. He is a great leader and someone who can provide some secondary scoring. From a Sabres perspective that trade makes no sense. He would play on our third line and that is too much money to play a third liner. Will Borgen is more valuable to the future of Buffalo then Dustin Brown is to the present.

He'd be on the 2nd line playing right wing, but you're right. It does not make sense for either team, like at all...

No he'd be on the 3rd line but it makes a ton of sense. LA gets an NHL ready d prospect. Buffalo gets a gritty vet with 2 rings who mnows how to win in the playoffs. Blake doesnt care about nostalgia, the vets will get traded or he will lose his job

You don't know what you are talking about. The move makes 0 sense. Brown is a FRANCHISE player and if Blake was going to trade Vets like Brown, Kopi, and Doughty he would have already. Blake said he is building around Kopi and Doughty. The day Blake trades Brown is the day he is fired. Brown is still doing good. Kings have plenty of solid prospects and aren't desperate for more unless they are top 4 D with no more than a 2 years NHL ETA. Kings have like 2nd best prospect pool in the league and 4 of them will be NHLers next year: Turcotte, Vilardi, Anderson-Dolan, and Bjornfot. Sabres don't have a solid 2RW unless they trade for Galchenyuk and even then, that guy is a dud...

I dont think he'll trade Kopitar and Doughty. Browns in his late 30s he'll get value out of him. NHL is a business

Lol if we are talking businesss then the more logical thing to do is keep him. He won the hearts of lots of fans and again, he is a franchise player. A fan favorite. Fans go to kings games to see Kopitar, Doughty, Quick, Brown, Martinez, and Carter. The value teams are willing to give for Brown don’t equate to what he brings to the Kings. To the ice, to the lockeroom, to the fans, and the city. Trading Brown for scraps the Kings don’t need is a bad business move. End of story.

Borgen is an overpay. Nostalgia doesnt make a winning team. Fans arent going to care about Brown when your team spends a decade in the sewers, believe me

He isnt the issue! He’s one of the few older players playing well. He has been for 3 straight seasons lol. Borgen being an overpay is nothing but an opinion. Don’t really care to get him either. He’s also not the piece that turns the Kings into a winning team, I don’t know how you figure that lol. Kings are one of the best teams in the league in possession and corsi right now. They are at least 1 year from being a decent team and 2-3 from being a good team. Kings have the money to pick up a top 4 dman in FA if they don’t draft well on defense. That would fill a hole and make the process a lot faster. Truth is you don’t understand Browns worth or importance as well as what the Kings needs are. This trade makes no sense and Brown isn’t going anywhere and there is absolute nothing wrong with that.
