Oils won't do this. Leon > Domi. Can live without Lehky & Juul (though I love em). Losing Primeau is going to hurt tremendously (the only part of this that makes me hesitate). I think Habs still take this deal if offered.

I don’t know why, but I feel like you can get better value out of Draisaitl somewhere else. But like you said it’ll never happen, he’s a 80-100 point scorer even on another team, he’s a #1 C who also plays wing and brings a two way game to the table. Also that chemistry is somethin you just can’t break.

The only gripe I'd have would be losing Primeau but this would make Montreal better right now.

Hands down, down so hard you break the table.

I'm silently rooting for EDM, may the rise of Canadian teams happen at some point for gods sake!

I am a Hab fan... but looking at the return for Edm getting a REAL #1 Goalie in Primeau for te next 10 years would be amazing and
fixing the wings with Domi, Lehko will help... won't ever be Draisatl production but collectively with be 2 good productive line instead of a one line punch!

I get where you’re coming from, if we’re gonna trade a player like that though the most ideal thing is to fill every need effectively. 2, maybe even 3 credible scoring wingers, an effective 3C and a goalie or a player who may become asap or if we’re lucky, already is a top 4 defensemen, depending. all i’m saying is the Oilers might be able to get all of that with someone else. I do like Domi and Primeau though but a goalie of the future is nothing a playoff team and a team who has a solid goaltending crop should worry about

Primeau could be the next ...Roy, Murray to jump IN playoff and win the cup at first year in...
We all know Oilers would never trade DrDrai... but I just want to create am amazing team for the next 10 years with those addition.

The problem is with "could be". Goalies are super unpredictable--ask any statistician. We still don't know how to predict goalie success, even if we can roughly predict forwards & defensemen success.

I don't think the Oils trade a #1C for a "maybe". Feels like a very risky move that risk-averse GM's aren't willing to make. If their bet doesn't pan off, they break off a newly blooming EDM team and definitely lose their job.

Quick note for valuation on Primeau, look at similar blue-chip goalie prospect trades in the past, like Schneider (and even he had 2 seasons under him).

I agree, thats why I would take a chance by tradding him for something big... and Oilers just try something to improves their goalie situation for long-term cup contender...
Again this WON'T EVER happen, but looking at the Olers roster after this trade... I kind of like it!

He's 20 years old and putting up decent numbers in the NHL. It's not really about potential anymore, more about just getting better everything

Can you at least comment the roster instead of always complaining?

I can't see it from the Habs side. I always complain because 99/100 times it's very lopsided trades which go in the complete opposite direction that Bergevin is willing to go.

If you built on... It will be Statu-Quo... No trade no amelioration, happy with today press release... no color, no flavor!
