What possible reason does Minnesota have to make that trade? Two second rounds picks, a B prospect and a guy who will be a career bottom 6/AHL tweener, plus Ceci's expiring contract is a terrible return.

Two seconds and Timashov (a young cheap tweener as you say), and a fine but overpaid Dman who can likely be flipped for a pick with retention (Ceci) seems like a reasonable return for Brodin, no? I felt his value has dropped a lot over the years, if I'm wrong, I'm wrong.

Stalock for a B prospect seemed fair... No?

No chance the Wild move Brodin for that little. They'd want something closer to what Muzzin went for. That being said, they're 2 points out of a playoff spot with 2 games in hand on the 2nd Wild card and Brodin has been great lately. They won't move him period at this point, unless they're getting an immediate roster upgrade.

Stalock has had a decent season as a backup forced to be the starter. With Dubnyk playing poorly and taking time away to help his wife with her health issues, they'll want goaltending depth and having Kahkonen waivers exempt means he'll go back down when Dubnyk is ready.

That depends on where you think the Wild are. You think they are rebuilding, yet nothing they have done at all suggests that. In fact, they went and signed UFA's this year and extended Spurgeon for 7 years, not something you would do if you were rebuilding. So that trade makes no sense because they want none of those pieces.

Okay that is totally fair. I am going with they are rebuilding because I don't see how they have a choice. I just don't see high end youth on that team. Their only top pairing defenseman/top line forward under 28 is Dumba. They have to deal with the contracts for Suter (still good) and Parise (passed his prime). I dunno I think it's time to nuke it.

Clearly I just don't follow Minni enough. Haha

I will say I think Brodin is gone this summer though. Carson Soucy has been an absolute beast and should replace Brodin on the 2nd pair LHD spot next year if he keeps playing the way he has so far. Goaltending will be interesting next summer, with Dubnyk entering his last season and Kahkonen probably deserving a chance next year depending on how well Iowa does this year.
