Don't see how Pitt would decline that unless they plan on trading Murray

Not sure about the CBJ trade, think it looks fine but I don't know how they value Savard. But the Pens will decline, even though the value is really good for them. Hutch is just terrible and adding him would mean that they have no contract spots anymore. So take Hutch out, Pens would easily accept. They probably would be willing to add a pick

I think that's way to much for a backup and I dont like trading johnsson at this point. He usually shoots at around 11% but this season hes only at 3.5%. Selling low on him isnt a good idea. He has been good on the matthews line, if he were to come back and and become his former self then I wouldn't be opposed to trading him but right now selling low on him, or even kapanen is a bad idea

Is trading Johnsson for David Savard selling low in your opinion? Honest question. Thanks in advance.

Leafs are at the 6-goalie-contracts-limit. They can't get this trade done without adding Hutch. PIT can bury him in ECHL. In order to fix that contract spot issue, PIT can send back another useless small contract.

Other than that, these are all smart & feasible moves as far as I can tell. Cool stuff!

OK but who else would you trade on the leafs? It feels like he's the most expendable piece of value. Would you trade Hyman instead? Maybe Trevor Moore has more value than his stats show? IDK

I would think so. What does Savard bring? He's big and right handed. That's all. Is that all we need? I don't think he fits in with this team at all. Look at how rough Jake Muzzin looks right now, they are very similar players. I don't think this trade is good for either team, the Jackets have 3 quality LW's, what do they need Johnsson for?

I think PIT would be iffy on trading one of their goaltenders. Jarry is playing well now but we really haven't seen how he can handle an extended number of starts. Not sure how he'll do. Plus with Murray's injury history, I don't know if they'd be willing to trade any of their goalies.

(Off topic but I see a lot of people on here making trades for Murray. They simply aren't going to move him unless the return is huge.)

I like the trade but I think he would have more trade value once he gets back to his former self. Maybe the leafs dont have to add the 3rd or even Columbus has to add their goalie (korpisalo I think) so the leafs dont have to give up bracco for desmith. The goal is to maximize the return and johnsson wont get the best return with the results hes had, we both know what he is and what hes capable of but I dont think many GM's think like that

It really depends on what they do with mikheyev. If he wants a ton of money then I think they should let him walk. I definitely like him a lot but anything over 2.5 is too much imo. I feel moore is capable of playing on the 3rd line LW and I'm a big fan of Marchment. Either marchment or engvall will be playing 4 LW I would think unless they are able to sign someone cheap like they did with ennis last season. Hyman has shown that hes a valuable piece to have and I do like what he brings. I think trading him before his contract expires is good (he will probably get close to 4, that's what I've heard). 4 million is way to much for him. I want them to keep 1 of johnsson or mikheyev and keep hyman until his contract is up to ensure that thier left side doesnt get too weak.

If they had to trade someone I would want it to be johnsson once he gets going again or mikheyev if he is asking for a big contract

Very solid analysis. I don't disagree with anything that you said here.

I know folks think CBJ have all these great Dmen. Really. There record has never shown except for one playoff round win last season.
There really isn't much difference between Ceci and Savard....is one year more of Savard worth Johnsson? Make the trade if you want but debatable if it really improves the Leafs on ice product.
Can't see the Pens trading their third goalie for an AHL forward.
