If they miss the playoffs, they aren't trading him for a 28 year old #4 defensemen

I think Barzal gets $8.5, similar to Aho. Pulock and Toews are probaly right.

If it costs a 1st to move Boychuk I think you keep him and try to move Hickey.

Dal Colle needs to go, he doesn't bring anything unique to the team. Johnston can fill the 4th line role if Martin leaves.

That trade was on the table IMO this offseason. Since then Tatar has gone on a heater and Leddy has been just ok. I still personally want Leddy though. He is quite possibly one of the players that makes the most sense for the Habs LHD woes based on cost/contract/age etc but If it came at the cost of Tatar I think I'd pass for the time being.

If the Isles were interested in getting picks and not taking back any cap in the trade, I think Habs would gladly send some picks your way for Leddy. Maybe Habs would have to send a player like Reilly back just for the number of contracts they already have on defense.

Isles won’t go 5 years, it’s either 3 or 6 +. To keep him for 6 years it will cost minimum 10 mill
