Not really suggesting trading him...with Jarry and Murray both RFAs, I say keep both until you know what their demands are. Just trying to figure out what Jarrys value is.

Mikheyev is an interesting cat.
His metrics show he should be having greater success than what he is. 3 5v5 goals in 33 games isn't exactly killing it. 4 in Even strength. But the Corsi is 54%. and he gets 50+% of his starts in the Dzone.
Even so he's on pace for 10 goals on the year. That seems pretty low for a guy who controls the puck. Maybe it's because he's shooting less than 2 shots a game in 5v5/even
But something has to give there, he should have greater output.

I like the idea, I don't think TOR does this. He's got potential to be better than what he's doing. Jarry will only be a backup there. They can find a cheaper option

Bad. Mikheyev is a 2-3 line controllable asset. Jarry is playing good right now but just months ago could have been had for peanuts. Sample size too small. I have no idea why Pittsburgh wants to move him anyway with Murrays health history. Fighting for playoffs every point counts. Blows me away

I don't think they do, in fact I think Murray is possibly more likely to go. Jarry may be their starter in the near future and if that's the case Murray will be moved. As for Mikheyev, he's a good depth winger and can be easily replaced. The need for a backup far outweighs the need to keep a depth winger.

There are other options for backup goalies than losing a key piece to the roster

He's a depth winger on a team with exceptional depth.
