Thornton Returns and Bjorkstrand Acquired

Description
Do I see a natural fit for Big joe in Boston? No. But the Sharks aren’t contenders this year and the Bruins are. It’s only right that he end his career where it started and try to get that elusive Cup. After a long playoff run last year and the load that the first line is carrying this year, the Bs will need the depth when they inevitably hit some setbacks. They can find a place for Joe to play, even if it’s not every game.

As for Bjorkstrand, I still believe that the second line RW spot remains a big hole and that Krejci would benefit from a right shot on his right side and a player who can keep up and can put the puck on net. I’ve always liked Bjorkstrand and I think he could be expendable for a Blue Jackets team that is loaded with young wingers on the roster and in the pipeline.

Some notes:
- Gotta demote Backes at some point. He won’t be traded, but he also won’t play a regular role. May as well get the cap relief.
- The Bruins just showed with Kampfer that a two-year deal and a non-minimum cap hit for an older player is the perfect formula to pass a serviceable player through waivers. I haven’t been wowed by Lindholm, but I also see how he could be a valuable depth piece next year after Nordstrom leaves. If I didn’t think he could clear, I wouldn’t waive him, but I do think he can slide through.
- Until Kevan Miller returns to action, I’m going to assume that he’s not gonna play this year

Thornton will never return to Bruins. Lot of animosity towards the org.

Columbus declines. Maybe go for Anderson, but Bjorkstrand is one of our top forwards and we have no interest in moving him.

Don't get me wrong I love Bjorkstrand, but that statement is an incredible self own.

It’s a point of how good he’s been for us but also how bad we’ve been offensively.
