Big no to Parayko. Unless you are sentencing Armstrong and yourself to the death penalty.

Blues aren’t giving up DUNN or KYROU or a FIRST for HALL a half year rental. Dunn is going to be one of our best Left Handed Defenseman. And you just made a rental overpaid.

No to all except San Jose. These are egregious at best.

Well he'll be the best left defenseman by default really. Bouw probably retires or signs elsewhere, Gunnarsson is well...Gunnarsson. And Perunovich is a huge wildcard.

Bouw isn’t even the best right now anyway. I would put Dunn over him as more effective. For obvious reasons.

Dunn is the best defenseman. But again it's kind of by default. We don't have any one else.

No to that one, too. These are four monstrous GTFOOH trades.

These would be solid trades if Blues were not concerned about salary cap implications.

Cap or not, these are all supremely horrid trades.

i would not call that terrible. Allen may yield a low second if the trade is for a pick only, but with another NHL capable back up involved it's pretty standard.

I don't see any capable back-up, just Dell. And I highly doubt we'd trade Allen before summer. It's full-on Cup mode time.

In all fairness to Dell (and even Jones) he put up great numbers before last season and this one. It doesn’t help when your defense is more porous than limestone. I doubt Allen gets traded in season too, but if god forbid Binnington goes down we might be forced to trade Allen for a starter (Dell isn’t one and I’m not referring to him)

If Binny would go down, Snake is the starter. And the way he has cleaned up his mechanics, I'm not scared of that. Allen has been playing great for nearly a year now, he's much more efficient moving around the crease and much more calm dealing with shots. This popular notion that he's a disaster is most popular with people who don't watch him play.

Consistency is Allen’s problem. There are long periods of time where he is a disaster. Most notably when he’s a full time starter. The first few games this year he was a disaster. And that’s the frustrating part. We’ve seen what he CAN do when he’s on. He unfortunately follows that up with terrible play.

Both our goalies struggled the first few weeks ("disaster" is a bit much), mainly because our D was giving up tons of high danger chances. Allen has been great for six weeks straight now, and was pretty good down the stretch last season. I think he's fixed his game, knock on wood.

I’m not just talking about the first weeks of the season. He was a disaster last year until Binnington came in. He was also terrible for most of the season before that when Hutton took over. Allen just can’t handle the pressure of being a full time starter and that’s okay. Everyone needs a good backup

He's handled it fine before. His problem was with mechanics and confidence. He has fixed the mechanics and regained confidence. He looks like a whole new goalie.

I’d be more optimistic if we hadn’t seen this before. He “fixed” his mechanics after Yeo took over and Brodeur was the goalie coach and had a great run through the first round of the playoffs dang near single handily beat Minnesota on his own. Then, made some very huge errors against Nashville , but nothing too egregious. Then old Allen came back. That’s my fear.

You're remembering wrong. He had a .915 and a positive GSAA that season and he did basically beat Minnesota singlehandedly. It was the next season when he started having mechanics problems. And there was no old Allen coming back. That was his first bout of struggles.

I’m not remembering wrong. He finished the year great but it was when Brodeur took over as goalie coach. February 1st, 2017 Allen had a 2.85 GAA and a .895 Sv %. He then turned it around and played great the rest of the season. Between February 2nd and the en of the season he had .935 Sv % and a 1.84 GAA. That’s a tale of two different goalies in the same body
