Would you be willing to exchange Cagiulla for left handed defensive defenseman like Gilbert?

Gilbert is pretty decent and mean, but the hawks have a log jam of defensemen so probably.

That would be a good deal for both sides imo.

Montreal should be all over it. This is a similar trade to Washington getting Kempny for a 3rd. Gus would fit in really well.

He's been a tire fire this year, if he didn't somehow put up 60 Points last year, he wouldn't be worth a 5th round pick. He doesn't play enough defense to be able to fit into Montreal's system

I have only ever seen this guy reject trades. He rarely ever goes into why, but I think he just really does not want Gus. I think he rejected Gus for a third once.

Bad return with Toronto. Saad is hands down a better player then Kap, not an equal trade there. Caggs for taking back Ceci is worth a 2nd at TDL.

Lehner will get more. Plus Carolina will have us take one of their goalies back as part of the package. Reimer or Mrazek plus a 1st and 3rd for Lehner is realistic. Go look at history on TDL for #1 goalies.

I don't want anything to do with Mrazek or Reimer for two years. I am happy with this return because the hawks don't need to be tied up long term with overpaid back ups. Keep as much flexibility as possible. CAR would likely put Reimer on waivers.
