Everyone wants Hall but

Description
... Zucker could be a nice consolation piece for those that miss out. On pace for 30 goals this year, has a 30 goal season under his belt, and consistently has been above 20 goals 3 years in a row. Not to mention he's signed to a reasonable contract with term. Wild need to make room in our top 6 for Kaprizov next year and Zucker is the winger that makes the most sense to move (Fiala is still young/has flashed a ton of potential and we aren't moving Parise nor Zuccarello). Zucker on Barzal's line could be a fantastic fit.

Getting Wilde would give the Wild flexibility to use Dumba as a trade chip for a young top 6 center in the offseason and the pick helps build the prospect pool.

I tried something similar to this and most fans would give up Wilde but only a 2 or a 3.

Wouldn’t really say Zucker is a consolation prize. All honesty he’s probably the better trade grab. Has term left at a reasonable price. Hall is a rental he’s made it clear he’s testing UFA and won’t be signing an extension mid season.

I think as we near the deadline teams will get desperate after missing out on the Hall sweepstakes and Zucker will likely be the best winger potentially available. He's putting a lot of the concerns people had about him in the offseason to rest, as he's on pace to score 30 goals this year. If the Wild were a serious contender and had a good prospect pool I'd be fine with moving a late 1st and a good prospect for a cost-controlled 30 goal scoring winger.

I think the big hype around Hall are his previous two seasons where he was over a PPG. He certainly hasn't continued that pace this year, but there's always that chance that he re-ignites the flame on a new team with a better chance to win the cup than his current situation. It's a risk for sure, but at worst you're getting a 60-65 point winger for a year which still isn't a bad asset. If you strike gold and he returns to the 90+ point pace winger he was the past two seasons, that could make a lot of pretty good teams into potential cup favorites. And that's especially the case if you already have star players on your team like Barzal, Tarasenko, Seguin, etc but even if you don't have that star player you could be adding one with Hall. Throw in the possibility that he signs an extension if your team makes it deep into the playoffs and you've really won the lottery. With Zucker, you know what you're getting: a consistent 20-30 goal winger with speed and is pretty responsible in his own zone, but he's never going to be that 90 point superstar that Hall has shown the ability to be. It kind of depends on the team. If you are already ripe with star talent forwards then Zucker could be the better get. If you're looking to make a splash and are missing that key piece but have some talented players to surround him with, Hall could be the better get.

I wouldn't need 1/2 a second to sign off on this deal!

I like the idea of this allowing the Wild to move Dumba for a top 6 center too...although I would much prefer to trade Spurgeon, but...you know...
