Two Trade Ideas St Louis and Anaheim

Created by: OldNYIfan
Team: 2019-20 Florida Panthers
Initial Creation Date: Dec. 15, 2019
Published: Dec. 15, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
St Louis is probably looking for depth at RW with Tarasenko's injury. Sceviour would fit well with them.

Florida gets a first, a LhD former first, a left-handed former second forward, and a middle 6 left-handed forward for MacKenzie Weegar and a fourth. Larsson already has significant NHL experience, Shore can kill penalties as well as slide up and down the lineup (he has put in time with Getzlaf on the #1 line), and both are RFA's and thus under team control through the expansion draft. Morand is a second-round pick who is buried on the Anaheim depth chart behind Comtois, Jones, Ritchie and eventually Tracey.

Ik Weegar has been spectacular this year, but I don't think ANA should be moving that many assets this year, even though the west and Pacific is a sh*t show

Isn't the Panthers the latest team to jump on the Hall train?

An ANA first sure, as like PIT I'd easily give up a first+ for him

In addition to Shore, Anaheim has Rakell, Comtois, Jones, Ritchie and DesLauriers at LW (with Tracey and Bandini in the pipeline), so Shore is surplus to our needs.

In addition to Larsson, Anaheim has Lindholm, Fowler, Guhle and Mahura at LhD (with Jackson LaCombe in the pipeline), so Larsson is surplus to our needs.

In addition to Morand, Anaheim has Getzlaf, Henrique and Grant on the roster, plus Steel, Lundestrom and Groulx developing (with Trevor Zegras in the pipeline), so Morand is surplus to our needs at center (or LW, as above).

If this is what it takes to get Weegar, I'd do it. I think I'm overpaying, but @Bananahockey thinks I'm underpaying, so I'm happy with my offer.

Only on CapFriendly. With an offense in the top 6 and a defense in the bottom 6, I don't think that they're looking at Hall that seriously. Larsson is a good defensive blue line prospect and they need depth on that side.

Because even with the addition of Weegar well before the TDL I don't expect Anaheim to make the playoffs this season, our 2020 first should be good enough to draft Justin Barron, Braden Schneider or even Jamie Drysdale.

We're not looking for 15-20 points per season RW depth. No thanks.

Aside from the fact that Shore plays LW, you ARE looking for: (1) an improvement in your bottom-6-in-the-League defense, (2) a third-pairing LhD who can mature into a top-4 defenseman, (3) a left-handed forward prospect, and (4) a first-round pick.

Erm, I'm commenting on the Sceviour-to-STL trade, not the ANA trade.
