I would warn all devils fans. Just because you got an absolute steal of a trade for hall, doesn’t mean this is just going to be easy. Don’t know what Chayka was thinking.

Overall premise I'm on board, but no way you trade Coleman ... heart and soul guy, in prime, at 1.8 mil for another year. When establishing a culture, you need guys like Pickles.

Going into this season, I thought the addition of Subban, Hughes, gusev, Simmonds, and a healthy hall would make this team a bubble team/ contend for playoffs. What happened

Too many new faces to be able to gel together. Not to mention Gusev has been a complete bust because he has no experience in North America which is way different than the KHL

14 points in 29 games isn't terrible, bust is a little strong; I'd say underperforming/ on a bad team.

Fooled a lot of people, my personal thoughts are after the stunk the 1st 15 games everyone started to think if we don't pick it up/ start winning Hall is going to leave, is Hall gone leave, is he not re-signing here, yadda yadda yadda. Then Hall became more of a distraction than an asset as the Devils keep losing.

I don't know how you think the Devils won that trade. Shero got fleeced.

Subban was declining, Gusev hadn't played a single NHL game, Hughes is a rookie, Simmonds is essentially a bottom 6 player now. The depth was still weak and the goaltending was a question mark that didn't pan out

If they want to commit to a rebuild, you trade everyone you can that's over 27

Lol, sure bud, sure. Just because you haven’t heard of the prospects or don’t understand the value of picks doesn’t make the return bad

Let's break it down.

Merkely: Can't even go PPG in the AHL in his d+5 year
Bahl: He's tall and prevents zone entries. That's about it
Schnarr: Decent. Maybe a middle 6 player.
2020 1st: Probably beyond 20th overall
2021 3rd: Probably maxes out at a 2nd round pick.

Please tell me how that package is worth more than Hall.
