The most ARI ACGMs this site has ever seen

Created by: Tchuckycheese
Team: 2019-20 Arizona Coyotes
Initial Creation Date: Dec. 17, 2019
Published: Dec. 17, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Seriously though, would love to see ARI have playoff success. Keep in mind, like most people, I have no idea who or what ARI needs to really compete or who is expendable. At this point, I don't think the Yotes need to risk much more of their future to win now but for the fun of an ACGM, why not?

I know ARI is flushed with Centres but they could find a place for Pager probably
Trades
ARI
  1. Anderson, Craig ($2,300,000 retained)
  2. Pageau, Jean-Gabriel ($1,000,000 retained)
Additional Details:
JGP- ARI get's a versatile centre playing during a career year. Plus he's a proven playoff hero.

Andy- gets one last shot at playing for a cup. He's usually decent in the post season and provides some bit of stability, although I never see Raanta play.
OTT
  1. Hossa, Marián
  2. Raanta, Antti
  3. 2020 2nd round pick (ARI)
Additional Details:
ARI sends a B prospect as well, but I have no idea since I don't know them well enough

Pick is either a 2021 first or 2020 second depending on the prospect that is included

Hossa gets to retire a senator

Moving Raanta gives the Yotes some cap room for next year since Andy has one year left

Is Ottawa trying to make the playoffs this year or next? Because this trade only makes sense if they are. If they are what I think the are, they want picks and prospects for Pageau and they'll ride Anderson until the end of his contract.

How about extending Hall? 7x12M to for sure make him stay even though they won't do that

I guess, I mean realistically yes they will ride andy until his contract is up but taking Raanta is low risk for them too, he has another year left and he's younger then they can decide what to do with him. Nilly is a great goalie but he's still working out the kinks of being a #1 goalie. And the sens goalie prospects have a lower ceiling than I think originally hoped for.

Raanta may not be with Sens by the time they are ready to even start competing realistically for a playoff spot. Adding Raanta now and next year only means they finish 8-13th instead of 3-7th in the next two years. For a team that is publicly stating they are rebuilding, does that make sense to you?

The time to trade for Raanta (or a player of his ability) will be in two years time when some of those young guys are starting develop into full time NHL'ers. Right now? Trade Pageau to the highest bidder, ride Andy and Nil for as long as you can until you are serious about getting a quality #1 goalie. By that time the Sens should have amassed a plethora of picks and prospects that they'll be able to sacrifice some in order to get some quality tenders, at that time.
