I would be very surprised if we don't get a 1st overall for Kreider and a c prospect. If I'm the Rangers GM I would deny anything that doesn't include a 1st.

You might see Kreider end the year in NY then. GMs are far more stingy with first round picks these days. My guess is that the rangers will get a pretty good prospect and a second.

the draft is deep this year so I doubt you get a first, but this is also too low for Kreider IMO. Why would the rangers take on Hanzel's dead cap space...makes no sense. Stars would need to add a decent prospect

Make one of the picks a conditional first and add a low prospect and it’s not awful. Eating the salary would probably need more

We will get a similar return for Kreider as we did for Hayes who had less points and goals over the years at close to the same age, I would put money on it. Otherwise I would definitely rather him walk like you said.

Hayes is a center which has more value than a wing and had way more points (42 in 51 games) than Kreider is on pace for (18 in 33 games, which is on pace for 28 points at the 51 game mark). Kreider is also 2 years older (28) than Hayes was when he was traded (26). Kreider will not get even close to the value that Hayes did.

5 first round picks have been traded in the last 10 months. idk what you're basing this opinion on.

I guess we will just have to revisit this if he is traded sarcasm
