Not enough for Zucker, especially with the cap dump attached to it.

I understand bringing in Zucker to help, but im not gonna dump a first rounder and a good D prospect to push things along. Let the money come off the books naturally and it will pay off huge later. No sense in overpaying just to dump salary in a year we aren't contending anyway. This team is more than Jason Zucker away from a legit cup run

And just keep struggling along waiting for 1st round picks to develop while the best player in the world gets increasingly frustrated playing on a ****ty team is not a good plan.
The money is never coming off the books, if a trade like this is available to the Oilers they should seriously consider it.

I get that view too. I think the best way to get rid of Russells contract (if you want to trade it away is to package him with Jesse Puljujarvi, not an A-class defence prospect AND a first rounder. I think that is a bit of an overpay for Zucker personally. Keep in mind that the Wild are still in the playoff race, and would not be looking to sell just yet

Where will Samorukov ever fit on the Oilers defense though?
Klefbom, Nurse, Bouchard, Bear, Broberg, Jones
When does Samorukov beat out any of those guys?

Yeah idk if the Wild are looking to move Zucker yet but a 1st, 4th, a decent D prospect and a cap dump seem reasonable for a LW with 4 years of term on a reasonable contract.
If the Oilers can turn one of their many B-prospect defensemen plus a pick into a much needed top 6 winger with term they should do it.

That's fair I suppose. But im still not giving up the first round pick. Wait for the wild to be out of the playoff race and I bet Samorukov, russell and a 2nd gets it done

Ya I can see that view. I just think Zucker would be a fantastic add to this top 6. Love watching him play when he plays against my Flyers.
