Offers for Byfuglien

Created by: tsyls
Team: 2019-20 Winnipeg Jets
Initial Creation Date: Dec. 17, 2019
Published: Dec. 17, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
So I’m just curious to see the response, if buff is back and skating in January, would there be any interest from teams? Jets would likely be wanting to send him to the east. They’d be able to retain 50% salary. His salary will be 6mil next year so buff at 3m would be a solid addition for a contender.

He’s exactly what the jets need if they can swallow some pride and try to make peace and do what’s best for the team

Not sure itll happen. If it does that’s great. I’m also pretty sure he’s not even coming back. I just wanted to see what people had to say about offers for buff

This is actually extremely interesting, TOR could use some size and grit and buff would also help considerably on the back end. Winnipeg would also probably be interested in the return. Hows kappys all around game been this year? Also I’m not quite sure buff would like playing in a city like Toronto, he hates the media.

Jets would say no to this. They’d most likely be looking for a B+ prospect and a 2nd. Or a middle six guy instead of the prospect.

Kapanen has been great all around this year, great penalty killer

I was having a discussion about this with a family member today. Only thing for me is that Tjo at 5x5 is a bit of a gamble. He’s been average this year imo, Jets to me would want a 2nd and a top 9 guy or b+ prospect. Tjo fits that top 9 role but in wpg he’d be a 3rd line guy. Too much to pay a 3rd liner.

Interesting, he’d be a good 3rd line addition. Also he’s signed to a good contract. Would buff at 50% retained for Kappy and a 2020 2nd work?

Yes. If buff is fully healthy and is willing to play for us.
