Description
MTL adds Speed,Grit and Physicality for next a low cost. (3rd,4th,5th and 7th picks are the value we give up
Trades
1.
MTL
Players MTL is upgrading on all 3 are waived likely to Laval but could be claimed
    2.
    MTL
    1. Gudbranson, Erik
    Additional Details:
ANA gets back their 4th round pick and MTL gets a upgrade on Kulak . Gudbranson is a heavyweight built for a playoff run and can knock out the best of them .
    ANA
    1. Folin, Christian
    2. 2020 7th round pick (CHI)
    Additional Details:
ANA is dead last in the West and not a Playoff hopeful so this trade offers them something similar value to what ANA paid but they get a NHL player instead of AHL player
    3.
    MTL
    1. Clifford, Kyle
    Additional Details:
KK has taken some questionable hits from Paquette's his rookie year to Zadorov's this year. Clifford being brought in at a similar position and cost as Dwight King gives MTL's rookie a fighter to defend him . He adds a net front presence we could use as well
    LAK
    1. Hudon, Charles
    2. 2020 5th round pick (MTL)
    4.
    MTL
    1. Miller, Ryan
    Additional Details:
he's got good numbers on the 4th worst team in the NHL and worst in the West . he's UFA and a good rental option to back up Price i think primarily because he's cheap
    ANA
    1. 2020 4th round pick (ANA)
    5.
    MTL
    1. Simmonds, Wayne
    Additional Details:
its a higher pick then he got last year when he was playing better but MTL isnt giving up a roster player so moving a conditional 3rd is a comfortable medium
    NJD
    1. 2020 3rd round pick (MTL)
    Additional Details:
Conditional 3rd becomes a 2nd if Simmonds wins cup with MTL

Why are we trading younger depth NHL pieces for UFA rentals? Bergevin has stated he doesn't want to hurt the future to win now, I don't see why we would trade plenty of picks for guys who won't be here next year.

Hudon is not the problem in those trades. You gotta give up on him someday. He's RFA at the end of the year but do you think right now, he has done enough for an other 1 year prove-it-deal? He's doing OK but it has been too many years. I wouldnt mind LA trade.

I dont mind trading Folin because he has a 7th role at 28 y/o and I doubt he'll become anything else (plus Fleury is great). Gudbranson is 27 and can be an overpaid starter. He isnt older, but I wouldnt do this trade because that means Kulak healthy scratch or on waivers.

This is the problem with this AGM : Kulak on waivers. You undervalue Kulak greatly if you think Gudbranson is an upgrade over him.

Even if he's not a NHL player, he's a PPG guy down in Laval and can always be a 13th forward if need be. I'd rather keep Hudon and hope that 5th round pick becomes something. I don't think Clifford would fit here, the 4th line isn't about strength and toughness, it's more about speed.

Overpaid is never a word you want associated with your team.

Last statement I agree with. Gudbranson brings nothing to the team.
