Flyers deal is pretty much fair in value and I like Kapanen a lot, but Flyers lack any young RHD outside of Myers and have quite a few ready/close to ready young forwards.

The NYR deal is a steep price but, at this point, I would be prepared to explore it. For the record, I would do it in a heartbeat if it were Johnsson + Tor 3rd 2021.

The Flyers deal is fair value IMO but I doubt that Philly wants to let go of Myers.

How do you think Leaf fans are going to react if Hutchinson wins on Saturday against Detroit? If he does well in the game, does that mean we all take a deep breath and just cool it on the backup overpays? Or do we need to see more wins?

Robertson is a good prospect, but probably another year of junior and couple years in the AHL before he'll be a regular NHLer.

Yeah, I think people take a step back and chill, hopefully that means something like Bracco + 2nd rather than Johnsson + 2nd

Dubas is a smart guy, I highly doubt he's ever going to make such a dumb trade. A top 6 winger for a backup is just silly. If they were getting a clear cut 1B then moving Johnsson or Kapanen may make sense. I still sometimes think TO should look into trading Kapanen or Johnsson for Lehner with reduced salary to even out the cap. Then they can tandem Andersen and Lehner all the way to the playoffs and possibly win the division if Boston has a rough patch in there.

I think Georgiev is closer to 1B than you do as honestly as is I'd rather see Kap/Johnsson for Georgiev than lener even without cap considerations.

Are you a Rangers fan? If so this can be translated too, "no don't leave and go after that other player my guy is just as good, please don't go.".

I think Gorgiev is a good player but I don't know what he is yet. And if the price is a top 6 forward, I just wouldn't make that trade.

No, I am a Marlies fan. And I'd rather see a 23 year old with some great numbers in the NHL with RFA control on the Leafs than a UFA who would be left to walk if we're giving up a bunch of futures.

What futures? I'm talking Johnsson for Lehner with retention to balance the cap. Look at TO's winning percentage with Andersen in net. Then imagine what they would be like the rest of the way if they had two great goalies to call on every night. Now think of all the depth we've seen on the wings with guys like Engval, Mikheyev, Moore, Timashov, Gauthier, Spezza, Kerfoot, and Kapanen. Has Johnsson's absence been a problem? If Kapanen was moved instead, would that hurt this club? The other reason I would do this is because Carolina is a good team with a suspect goalie situation. If they got Lehner, I'd be worried to face them in the playoffs. Without him, they don't worry me at all. Why not just fix our biggest issue at the cost of a surplus position and keep our opponents away from him as well.
