Just a thought on the Murray contract. I wouldn't think he would sign long term for low money. If he plays out poorly the rest of the season he probably gets the amount you show but for only 2-3 years. If he plays well to finish the year he'll likely get 6 years at 6 mill.

I think Hoffman and Kreider will get both more term and more salary. Murray, Petterson, and Jarry (if he continues his stellar play) will likely get more salary as well.

Id be okay with a 5 or 5.5 for 6 or 7 year deal for muzz if his numbers return to at least average. I think Petterson will get more, pens had to low ball him this season because of cap and it has already been reported the pens and him practically have a deal done sitting in a cabinet for the offseason. I think his deal will be more of a 3 or 3.5 by 4 or 5 years. I think Hoffman could get a lot more money and term from another team, same with krieder. Hope the pens dont overpay for a UFA unless he is a super star like Hall but even then id be a bit wary.
