Description
Friedman : “THEY THINK he’s trying to force a trade from NY to somewhere with a clearer path to start”

It’s all speculation and conflicts every report Igor erenko has made. Sorokin is going to burn the 1st year of his ELC and sign a more lucrative deal this summer. Sorokin and varlamov have the same agent, he’s 100% coming over.

Friedman also said Tavares was staying a few days before he left for Toronto, so there’s that

Tavares WAS staying a few days before he singed in Toronto. It was a last minute decision where he was leaning to go with the Isles. There is no credible reason to discount this report as of yet outside of your wishes. Given your goalie situation and the fact that you needed to convince a guy to even come over says that fridge is closer to being right than wrong here.

Friedman is at the top of the foodchain for inside information but there are key words there that he is saying us with that he was just told this and does not believe it as you highlighted them. Sorokin is going nowhere, dont worry about that.

Igor erenko is arguably the #1 insider for the KHL. He said last month sorokin is not considering an extension. This is all speculation from Friedman

If Sorokin and Varlamov is the tandem next year, neither of them will be the starter if the system stays as is. I could see them splitting games again and Sorokin playing very well, getting acclimated to the NHL and starting his share of games. That might, perhaps be best for both him and the team

The main reason sorokin never had interest in coming here was management. (Pre Lou regime )

How many people are speculating when they start with "my sources are telling me" ?
Fridge is not speculating here.

“THEY THINK” - ok so Friedman’s sources are speculating. Are you saying that everyone should trust this tidbit from Friedman over the #1 insider for the KHL?

That insider hasn't said anything contradicting this recently. From what I've read this seems like a new development. What we do know (not speculation) is that he is looking to sign an extension in the KHL, they think the reason is to force a trade. Either way you put it it sounds like he has no interest in playing in New York. If EE says anything to the contrary in the next few days we will see, but as of now you may have to contend with losing him.

Igor eronko literally just said 5 days ago that sorokin is not even considering an extension with CSKA.

And if you knew the situation , you’d know sorokin other concern is money. He does not want to play on a 1 year ELC, which will force Lou to sign him to a 1 year ELC in April so that he can sign a more lucrative deal as an RFA

Just found the tweet now. We will see what happens. He specifically said not considering a contract extension, but that doesn't mean he isn't threatening one for a trade. Either way we will know in a few months

This is complete horsecrap. Until Lou took over, Sorokin had no interest in coming to the NHL under the previous regime, nor did he ever try and force the Isles to trade him. Now, with rumors swirling since last year that he was coming to the Island next season, he's suddenly trying to force a trade?? Makes literally no sense at all. Not to mention most speculate the reason Lou went after Varly (and let fan favorite Lehner walk) was to guarantee that Sorokin comes over.

As has been already mentioned, this seems more like a tactic to force the isles to burn his 1 ELC year, so he can sign a better deal as an RFA.
