Why would Kovalchuk want to sign here? Bergevin has already stated he doesn't care about making the playoffs. Kovalchuk left because he wants a cup.

Really not what he stated, he just doesn't want to trade assets (prospects or pick) for a player/rental

Exactly. Why would Kovalchuk commit to a team that isn't going all in to make the playoffs. There are atleast 10 better options.

I didn't say that Bergevin wouldn't do it. I'm thinking about Kovy's POV
