Take the pick and prospects out and add Kapanen and a 3/4, especially since the Devs are retaining salary.

I'm a devil's fan and I would rather the prospects over kapanen and I think kapanen is someone who will be huge in the playoffs for the leafs.

1) Simmonds isnt needed...so as NJD fan what would be Vatanen with retention then ?

2) Hamonic and Barrie are basically 1 for 1 ( both being on the verge of Elite tho one as defensive and other as offensive D ), so i would remove Timashov and 4th

I’m a devils fan as well and while prospects are nice, young, low cost controllable wingers with 50 point potential are more appealing.

Idk, Simmonds would add some much needed grit and sandpaper to that lineup. But you would know better then I would. Vatanen with retention is probably a 2nd rounder at a minimum, but I’m not sure how willing Dubas is to deal his picks in a deep draft.

I think bracco could put up the same numbers.

On NJD trade: Leafs are not in a position to trade someone who may well be our future backup, or starter (Scott). But the problem with that trade is replacing a D who plays a crucial role on the PK, Ceci, with someone who I wouldn't really trust as much in that role.

On CAL trade: Barrie has more value on the trade market than Hamonic. The salary retention at best compensates for the gap.

Hamonic will play pk and Vatanen van play pp so the trades are role swaps really and petan doesn't have high value so I think it's fair.
