Ghost for Subban and more

Created by: WhatNowDiscussion
Team: 2019-20 Philadelphia Flyers
Initial Creation Date: Dec. 18, 2019
Published: Dec. 18, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Subban needs a team with energy and leadership to keep him in check

JVR is good but not $7 million good. Move him now before he becomes the next Bobby Ryan

PHI really messed up with the Hayes signing. They already have Giroux, Frost, Patrick, Couturier, and Laughton at the center position.

The initial thought is decent, but NJ has no more use for Hayes than PHI does. They have Hughes, Hischier, Boqvist, Zacha and Zajac playing the C...

Flyers would dumb to move Hayes lol. You do realize Giroux’s years of playing center are behind him right? He’s moved to wing to have longevity being an effective player. Hayes plays a great 200 game. Frost still young and isn’t that strong defensively may be moved to wing eventually. Patrick is an uncertainty with his health. For years the Flyers haven’t had any solutions at center behind 1C. Why trade away a significant piece when you finally have great depth there. Doesn’t make sense when that was a big hole for years.

Imagine giving up 2 quality players for a guy that’s one of the worst players in the league right now with a 9M cap....

Giroux is and has been a left winger for a while

Patrick’s health is an unknown and I’d imagine had a lot to do with the Hayes signing.

Laughton is much better on the wing than at Centre. If he’s the Centre it’s the 4th line. He’s also missed time with injury.

Frost is a rookie

Coots is a beast

Doesn’t sound like your comment about the team screwing up signing Hayes holds true at all. They need him.

The basis around this is there. Why not just do JVR for Subban? From rumors, NJ was in the running to sign JVR and philly halways been linked to Subban

NJD would never give up Bratt + 1st to move Subban (and add salary). And zero chance they take 7 years of Hayes. If this were a deal around Myers/York/Frost/Farabee, maybe something there.

Boqvist plays LW. Zacha plays both wing/center. Hischier, Hughes and Zajac are typically top-3 centers and 4th has been mix (Rooney, McLeod, etc).

laugh You honestly giving up Ghost for Subban? Subbans play has really gone south here lately. He's a shell of his former self. No way i'd do Ghost in any deal for Subban. Subban will never live up to the rest of that contract anyways.

yeah this is a hard pass for Philly. Subban is not worth his contract, ghost costs half as much and is producing more points than subban this season, and giving up Hayes makes no sense. Current healthy centers are Coots, Frost, Hayes, and Vorobyev. NJ "won" the off season and now they can enjoy the "rewards"

Boqvist can also play C I think.
