I think we should let Muzzin walk.
We can and need to get Dermott for cheaper.
TBH I think we let Mikheyev walk too.

Will be interesting to see for Mikheyev! Why not sign him and trade Johnsson for something instead of just loosing Mikheyev for nothing?
On another note, I think it will also depend on how Engvall plays for the rest of the season, he might be earning his next year spot on that third line

Ah why? Mikheyev has been great this year. Everyone on the team seems to love him. Why not keep envgall-kerfy-soup together and let them become one of the best 3rd lines. I’m fine with letting muzz walk but we need someone on the back end who atleast throws his weight

If Detroit doesn't offer Howard a contract he will most likely retire. He doesn't want to leave his family and their home is in Detroit.

Don't get me wrong, I like Mikheyev. He has been great. I just feel he is the classic example of a player who has a good year and then never lives up to his next contract. Granted 2x2.5 is not bad, but it is a lot to pay compared to whoever would replace him making 775k. When you pay as much as the Leafs do for their core guys, you can't make those signings for 2-4 million. You just have to cycle through ELC and cheapy deals.

I think he will imo. Especially if you just let him and his line mates play together. It’s know it’s been two games with that line but it’s been great

Yeah as I said, I love Mikheyev, but he just reminds me of Zaitsev in the sense that as soon as he plays for more than ELC money, he is looked at differently. Same went for Connor Brown.
Engvall, Moore, Timashov, Korshkov... We have more than enough LW talent that costs less than a million. We are better off putting it towards a Dman
