Think Dadanov would be awesome fit

Created by: CHUG
Team: 2019-20 Pittsburgh Penguins
Initial Creation Date: Dec. 18, 2019
Published: Dec. 19, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Florida getting familiarity and an extra year on Bjugstad's contract which may allow them to sign Hoffman. They also get an upgrade in the backup position which they need and they get the second rounder for a rental.
The Kings deal is not really set in stone, I just think the pens should use Galchenyuk to upgrade the LHD position, doesn't necessarily need to be Martinez.

The following season if the Cap go's up to 84 mil (has been rumoured)
Leaves pitt 26.5 to resign people
Murray and Jarry combined 7 mill
Pettersson and McCann combined 6.5 mill
Kahun and Lafferty combined 3.5
Dadanov 5.5 mill
leaves 4 mill to replace Schultz and 13th forward and maybe more if you can move JJ

what do you realistically see murray getting for a contract? no chance thats enough for dadanov btw. 2 time cup winner, i think murray get 7m himself.

Iirc Murray hasn't been very good these past two years according to most Pens fans, plus Jarry's been getting more of the starts recently I think.

What is dadanovs value then? and Murray shouldn't get 7 mill, he has had a pretty bad season and has been inconsistent most of his career I could see around 5-5.5 if his play doesn't dramatically improve.

murray had a 2.69 gaa and a .919 save % last year. thats not bad. I think jarry getting more starts recently is just riding the hot hand. He has been one of the best goalies this season where murray has struggled.

in a world where both martin jones and jonathan quick make 5.7m murray will get more than that.

Those are bad contracts, and the pens aren't looking to sign a goalie to a bad contract while they have all of the options they currently have

idk but i highly highly doubt they take a player back that they originally traded to you. i think if dadanov gets moved its for a top 4 dman.

could try schultz then instead of bjugstad and use galchenyuk to get a player like collin miller to fill his spot and leave JJ in the lineup as he has actually played not bad this year

Vasilevsky just signed 9.5 x 8. Hellebuyck signed a 6.167 x 6. Deal has to fall in between the 2. Recency bias is teams are paying their goaltenders early. The guy won you back to back stanley cups. He is the definition of "turns it on" when the games mean something.

schultz has been injured off and on all year and pitt has absolutely nobody to replace schultz. i dont think miller is the defenseman they want to move in a deal. I just dont think florida and pitt agree on a deal here. especially where florida is in a playoff spot.

when quick was extended that was a really good contract. jones was actually decent his first 3 years with sjs his play has dropped off significantly.

Then he can do it somewhere other than Pittsburgh, and they will happily take the 1st+3rd, or 1st+2nd+3rd compensation.

Martinez isn't a rental with another year on his contract and you are asking for us to retain, Kings are looking for picks and prospects, ideally defensive prospects. A 2nd and Calen Addison might get it done.

all im saying is recency bias has shown that teams are extending goalies earlier for longer term since thats arguably the biggest position that needs to be filled. There are multiple articles from people more informed than i that are saying murrays deal will land closer to vasilevskys deal than quick/jones.

Murray isn't getting traded and Bjugstad definitely isn't getting traded back to Florida less than a year after they traded him to Pittsburgh.

Does it have to be as strong at the "multiple articles" that you have seen? Cause that will be tough to top...

Are these "multiple articles" that are strong enough to base your entire opinion on... um... AGMs here?

Oh, this is fun... it's like a Family Feud... survey says....

He is getting outplayed this year by a goalie who everyone thought would be traded this past summer. The reason he will get traded is the Pens are not built salary wise to pay a goalie that much. And lets not give Murray all the credit for those Cups he did have a pretty awesome team in front of him and the 2nd one FLeury carried the water for a while.

yeah man you got me, i take what other people that have no clue what they are talking about like yourself to heart and treat it as bible. Various reporters that write for various sites and papers obviously you can think what you want but its a quick google search and multiple reporters saying similar things pop up. You think ide take your word and be like "bozo the clown over here says murrays getting only 5 that must be it!" look at recent trends.

jarry has played 15 games. imagine basing your entire future right now off of a 15 game sample. Come the playoffs if jarry is still playing like this, we can talk. He has 44 career games played. this is his best stretch by any means as a goaltender. Hes hot right now. Will he regress and murray comes back to form? more than likely yes.

He's an RFA, so if he gets 7 mil, I doubt it comes from Pitt...if he does get that from someone, the pens get a 1st, 2nd, and a 3rd. I'd take that in a heart beat before matching that offer. It will be interesting to see how this shakes out, but I dont think any arbitrator would give him more than 5...
