The Sabres would, without a doubt, accept that. They would just need CHI to retain some salary.

It's gonna take quite a bit more than a 2nd round pick and a prospect to get Kane.

Yeah, I edited my post after you quoted it. They would need the Hawks to retain a bit of salary on there, but could probably throw something else in to make it work.

Don't see Toronto accepting that deal. Maybe if it was 50% retained, even then I'm not confident they say yes even if he were free.

The deal is essentially Thomas Tage for Patrick Kane, of course a team would be willing to give up more if the cap space is available to add him.

See I tried to do 50% but I couldn’t figure out how much it was

You have significantly undervalued Kane and Toews. How you don’t get top end prospects and 1st round picks is beyond me.

Kane has been in the top 5 in the NHL nearly all decade. He’s won almost every award he can qualify for and will end up leading the DECADE in points scored (granted because Crosby gets injured a lot and McDavid has only been in the league for half of it). And he still produces at over a PPG and has YEARS left of top end hockey. And you trade him for Tage Thompson and a 2nd. Yikes.

A 4th is essentially nothing, and moving up in the draft by maybe 10 spots is worth another 4th, so not much

These trades are not even close. Kane is way more valuable than a 2nd a bust
