The NHL over here trying to make money signing new deals with AB and you over here tossing it away on a 36 year old washed up player who already fleeced LA.

Literally zero risk in a one year deal near the minimum

I like the Turris trade. He has 14 pts in 26 games. Since he has more ice time he played well. But probably NSH need to take some cap in return, like Tanev or Johnson... Because Galchenyuk is UFA this year. So they win in Turris cap, but need to take a 3-3.5m back...

How do you get a 2nd for Bjugstad from a team that is rebuilding?

He's not a rental, and MIN looks like a wild card team right now

Can I interest you in one Tyler Bozak instead? A million cheaper and only one year left on his contract

Never said he was a rental all I said is he isn't worth a 2nd and Minnesota has about 43% chance of making the playoffs and at the TDL Guerin will be selling.

We have Jared McCann. Why do we need an upgrade at 3rd line center?????
Kovalchuk would be a waste of a roster spot. If you have issues with Galchenyuks play Kovy is no upgrade. He doesn't know what defensive zone looks like and Sully will hate him.

McCann isn't a center. He's a winger. That's why. You can't win games with guys getting you lower 40% in the faceoff circle. That's why he'll never be a center.

Um he's a center. He played center in juniors, was drafted as a center. primarily plays center and prior two seasons taken over 500 faceoffs and is on pace for over 700 faceoffs taken this year. And btw he is at 46.9% this year.
So he was drafted as a center, takes a lot of faceoffs like a center, and actually plays center. Sounds like a center to me.

Just because you play a position in juniors doesn't mean you end up there in the NHL.
Most forwards in the league were centers in their junior years. That's where the best athletes go.
But He's not an NHL center. The low faceoff percentage and greater production on the wing from him speaks volumes to that.

Greater production on wing. He has played center pretty much all year and played some center last year.
He played 32games with Pens last season 11 goals 6 assists
34 games this season 11 goals 10 assists.
Plenty of Centers have low faceoff %. Malkin notoriously is a prime example. Jack Eichel, Matt Barzal, Charlie Coyle, Max Domi.

A he has spent a very good portion of that time on the wing.
B. 3Cs have to be able to win faceoffs. You can get away with it as a 1 or 2C. But 3C has to be more two way players. It's why a guy like Bassard didn't work out.
Getting owned on the dot doesn't help you win games in the playoffs. Period.

A no he hasn't. Ice time at Center this year dwarfs time on wing.
B I see your point on the faceoffs in playoffs. Faceoffs is a skill that can be worked on. His defensive zone coverage and awareness are what best suits him for the role. None of which Turris has ever been complimented for and at 6 mil for another 5 years yikes.
