We would think Gourde has more value than Lehko because he had good offensive numbers, but Lehko is an elite defensive foward.

If we say they have a similar value, we gotta look at their contracts. Lehko is cost controlled (RFA in 2 years) unlike Gourde who seems overpaid plus he carries a NTC. MTL would help a rival with their cap situation, so they must have faith in Gourde that he'll bounce back (he's a fighter so it's possible). They also have to think Lehko will never be an offensive threat.

If a team have to add something, it's Tampa. Lehko is loved by his coach and MTL aren't looking to trade him: they need a really interesting offer.
