Why on earth would Montreal do that? Andersson has failed to produce in North America. I imagine he'd be available for a 2nd or 3rd. Rangers has no leverage here.

...I mean Lias has put up a better point rate in the AHL last year and the year before than Poehling is putting up this year....and he was doing that on one of the lowest scoring teams in the AHL....

It's a really close comparison...I think Lias is a bit better defensively though.

I fail to agree with you on that one. I think Andersson is a bit better offensively, while Poehling is better defensively. Also Andersson was the 13th highest scorer on Hartford, while Poehling is 7th. Two different teams.

Wouldn't give more than .... Ikonen and a 2021 3rd for him. High draft profile yes, hasn't produced in the NHL nor the AHL, seems to have an attitude issue (The Juniors medal and now this. I'd say no but he's a bet worth taking depending on the price. He's in the same boat as Puljujärvi so I wouldn't give much more for him.

I don't follow....

Lias was .56 pts/gm in AHL during the 17-18 and 18-19 seasons on a team that was ranked 20th and 24th in AHL in goals scored

Poehling is at .46pts/gm in the AHL this season on a team ranked ranked 16th in the AHL in goals scored.

Production wise, the closest comp for Lias right now in terms of the last 3 years is Vesalainen...

So far this season the Canadiens have favored Thompson in their lineup over Poehling. And because Poehling and Thompson are both true centers, Poehling would need to be sent down before Andersson could be moved into third line center slot.

Still Thompson is a 4th line centre (who for some reason last season when Phillip Danault had a baby and didn't play Thompson played top line) and Andersson and Poehling could play together... could make chemistry
