That Dunn contract is about $1m too cheap and about two years too long. I don't see him taking that much of a sweetheart deal when the new standard for contacts is cashing in on your last RFA deal.

Blais contract is about 750k short if he plays up. And if course this all assumes that other teams will be kind enough to take random cap off STL's hands so they don't have to let their captain, coincidentally the best RHD pending UFA in the class, go into free agency

We are not giving Kreider this contract. No way no day.

Ain't no way Steen is waiving his NTC for Detroit. Doubt if Jersey if interested in Allen. You might be able to give Bozak away but lots of teams need to cap dump. Not getting a good pick for him.

Agreed 100% - Steen isn't waiting his NTC. He can be bought out and the Blues pick up $2.3MM next season, which could come in very handy. That's the only option for taking his contract off the books.

I think shedding the Bozak contract would be fairly simple; to your point, nothing coming back in return but getting rid of a $5.0 cap hit with $4.25 salary for only one year isn't a big deal. Lots of young teams would probably like the vet leadership and cup experience for a single season anyway. Maybe worth a low draft pick.

Allen, if he keeps up his current play, is suddenly a somewhat valuable commodity. I could see the Blues easily pulling a 3rd rounder in return for his services, even if it isn't from the Devils. Pretty far cry from where his value was at the end of last season.

After evaluating the return on the Hall trade, I think the Sanford + 2nd trade for Krieder is completely realistic and perhaps even doable for a 3rd instead of a 2nd. I don't see the Blues really resigning him though.

Steen can waive or be told he’s being bought out. Maybe he’ll just retire if faced with that proposal.
