Sharks pick is better than expected

Created by: Gordon_Bombay
Team: 2019-20 Ottawa Senators

Description
With probably already 2 top 10 picks (Ottawa and San Jose. and their own 2nd rounder being close to a 1st rounder, the Sens could have a huge draft. I actually think some of those salary dump trades would work

Would you do it? I mean Montreal could like to get rid of his salary and this will not be for free

I think we should stay away from Alzner... just not worth it, even MTL's 1st which will be in the low 20's at worst

I think it would work. The Sens have plenty of cap space and should even have enough cap space for two more seasons with Eriksson and Alzner. You can even get good players at 20, or you can move up with the other picks

There is no chance at all that Montreal does that. I do know it would be the cost of moving, but MTL has more than 7 million in cap space right now. Nothing justify to move Alzner for a 1st.

Montreal has cap space to carry Alzner next year. It only a 3.5m cap hit. Gee the Leafs paid a first rounder for Marleau's 6.25m
Vancouver will keep Ericsson for two years instead of giving a first..which could a lottery pick again. (the Rangers don't own it)

After his signing bonus of 1.5m$ is paid July 1st 2020 Alzner becomes a -not as bad- contract considering that it can help hit the cap floor.
    His cap hit: 4.625. Actual paycheck: 2020- 1.5m$, 2021- 3.5m$.

No chances we give you a first rounder for that ... I'm pretty sure Melnyk already has a meeting with Dorion and Bergevin July 3rd 2020 planned to get this contract.

Shouldn't have to say it again, but:

Montreal can eat Alzner's cap hit with no worry about going over the limit. We might as well keep him unless we can trade him for free.

I think you're forgetting that the draft is in Montreal this June. No way the Canadiens are going to let the Bell Centre fill with fans the first day and not have something to cheer about.

I'd like to see the Oilers try and get Ennis or duclair from the sens. We've got so many defense ! We could use
