I'm not sold yet that Poehling is that far away in value to Suzuki. Poehling arguably had just as good a training camp as him, got unlucky with a concussion. Have Poehling play the same minutes as Zukes with his linemates, Poehling's stats get real close to what Suzuki has pulled off. just a matter of opportunity. playing less then 10minutes a game at LW (when you've never played there your entire career) isn't a fair way to properly assess him.

Does that pass from Suzuki made you change your mind?

but seriously, Suzuki will probably be a beast in a few years. Lets just say he becomes this 70pts Center. and for arguments sake Lafreniere becomes a 90pts LW. in a league where parity rules and every inch matters, every point matters. the difference from 70 pts to 90 pts is a giant chasm. that 20 pts gap could be the difference between winning and losing in 10 or more games. If we can agree on that, then the only other concern from a deal like this is how does it affect the teams depth chart, because you know, you still need a team behind your supertar(s) *looks toward EDM*... and I think the Habs depth would be just fine.

You gotta give up a young piece with proven skill like Domi coming off his 70 point season would still gain a lot of interest .

Without a Domi ,Drouin or Kotkanemi i think the deals a automatic no go based on Quality vs Quantity .
ANA in a position to get both and i think they'll need a young RFA Star , Top Forward Prospect , Top RD prospect and two 1st's (assuming MTL is picking mid first -late 1st and not holding a top 10 pick )

Sounds kinda funny, but guys like Domi and Drouin are too old when talking about a potential Lafreniere deal. Anyone with an opportunity to draft someone like lafreniere and consider moving him would probably be looking for someone like KK way before Domi of Drouin.

Suzuki is arguably playing himself above KK in the organization. but this could due to a recency bias, but that would be the quality piece you speak of.
