Can you put the Ceci + Johnsson + 2nd offer in an Oilers perspective for me?

Larsson + Starrett?

I don't think so. They are a pair that I think will be extremely difficult to play against. They are both terrific skaters, both so good at handling the puck and their vision is really good. I am not sure I'd put them against the other teams best players but they do tilt the ice in their favour in a big way. With Keefe's system of collapsing to the front of the net and protecting the slot, it will only make them even better. I am in favour of this pair.

No, but I'd do Ceci + Johnsson for Larsson and a 2nd. Larsson is better than Ceci but he's not much better. Honestly, Larsson I don't think would move Holl out of the shutdown pair. Holl has more talent and puck moving ability. Larsson really isn't that good.

I don't think trading kerfoot is a good idea either. He hasn't put up many points but hes got all the tools to be a good 3c which is much more valuable then johnsson or kapanen. I think trading Johnsson is the way to go with the emergence of engvall and mikheyev. I think Kappy is a very valuable player when hes on the 3rd line and needs to be playing there.

I've seen a bunch of stuff about trading kerfoot but Imo that's not a good idea, spezza definitely cant fill that hole and we dont have a big enough sample size to know for sure that engvall can play there. If someone will be traded it will most likely be johnsson around the deadline when his value goes up. Hes injured and shooting around 3%, he is normally around 13-14%

I don't know if the Hawks do that deal since Murphy has 2.5 term left. And while I not that enthralled with Larsson, Oiler might feel they need him to remain the playoff race.

Leafs have enough minor league goalies....don't need Starrett.

So what is Murphy + Delia in Edmonton terms?

I think Chicago needs talented young players and if it costs Murphy to get one, they may do it since they are not a very good team

They don't have a 2nd pairing defenseman and an AHL goalie? Okay...

He is, Larsson can't be a shutdown guy, he proved it last year. He's a 2nd pair defender at best and in TO 3rd pair. He's just not good

They should be considering a good trade involving Barrie. Not that they should be looking to get rid of him, but he was always a season long rental, so if they get a good value offer for him from another team, especially one in the west, they need to consider it. Just like Blues did a couple years ago when they traded Stastny away.

I don't think so, not this year. I was completely on board with this if we were talking about JVR and Bozak but not this year. I think this team could make a run and they are better with Barrie. Getting that experience is important for the others.

He’s not so valuable that he’s untouchable. Considering a deal involving him and looking to move him are very different concepts. It should no way happen from Calgary perspective but hypothetically if they wanted Barrie and were offering a package that included Rasmus Andersson. You wouldn’t even consider it? Calling Barrie untouchable is ludicrous, which is what you’re saying if you say you wouldn’t consider moving him.

Of course you listen and no one is saying he is untouchable but I am saying it's not a priority or anything I am actively thinking about. If a team comes in with an insane offer, you take it.

See you would consider it then. So your thread title maybe should have been Leafs shouldn’t be shopping Barrie. Which is something I can agree with to some extent
