Jared McCann, younger, a center, cheaper even after his new contract, and producing at about the same rate this season. Why would that require a first?

MN could get 1 or the other, not both for Zucker. 1 of those + Galchenyuk would make the cap work out. Maybe add a conditional pick to Pit if MN re-signs Galchenyuk?

Haha no, McCann has been spectacular this year, he's exactly the type of player this team needs long term and rn, i doubt he gets moved any time in the best future, and while yes Zucker is an upgrade, McCann is also likely the long term 3C making Jugs expendable, or a 1W with Crosby.... Zucker can only fill one of those spots, and while yes he's an upgrade, the age contract etc don't make it worth a first that GMJR already said is 99% untradeable

this is next years first. remember that the original deal was kessel and johnson for zucker and rask, where both players on Pittsburgh were better. Minnesota isn't moving zucker at fair value. It will require an overpay. Thus my title, if they truly want Zucker, it must be a pretty hefty overpay. At most MIN may add a slight bit in return, approximately the value of a 3rd.

I'd do the Kessel for Zucker swap in a heartbeat, I love Zucker, McCann is just gonna be too big of a piece for too long to give up on

This is a horrible deal for pittsburgh. Mccann is just as good if not better and hes not playing as high in the line up as zucker. And then you want a first too. No.

Jared McCann AND a 1st Round Pick for Jason Zucker???!!! Are you serious? NO WAY BUD! THAT'S SOOOOO Grossly overpaying for a player that is not much if at all better than McCann himself. A first round pick? No WAY!
